The background is very hot. In fact it had been quite heavily burned in (believe it or not!). I did think about pushing through to take some shots of the speakers themselves, but I didn't want to intrude on what was already a pretty scary moment for them. A 90mm (or even 135mm) lens would have been helpful in this situation, but I had elected to go light, taking a single body and lens.
