Complementing the LEICA DUOVID 8 + 12 x 42 launched in spring 2002 as a worldwide innovation, this model offers the choice of 10x and 15x magnification. The magnification is switched by a simple twist of the two binocular tubes. Eyesight correction settings are retained even when magnification is changed due to the ADCTM automatic diopter compensation. The binocular prism benefits from new HighLux system coating technology, where a special mirror coating enhances light transmission for an even brighter image and higher overall contrast. The new LEICA RANGEMASTERs are the first to feature a scanning mode which switches on automatically when the control key is pressed for a few moments longer. In scanning mode the rangefinder continuously takes updated measurements, facilitating the detection of small or far-distant targets. This function is particularly helpful when hunting, as it tracks the movements of roaming animals and accurately determines their distance. LEICA RANGEMASTER 900 scan und LEICA RANGEMASTER 1200 scan are also practical tools for surveying work in forestry.
