Subject: [Leica] 800 speed films - the Massacree revisited (Sorry Arlo Guthrie)

Hi!
Oh - Fuji wins hands down! But the new Kodak Portra 400UC is fantastic
at 400, and pushed easily to 800 with outstanding results! Granted -- I've
just done this with less than 10 rolls, but the results at many times rival
or better the Fuji. It's a great film ... maybe it's got the latitude to do
this well. Certainly the color is there! VERY saturated with some subjects,
but skin tones from the very dark to the very light hold their own in a
remarkable way, wildlife subjects (human or otherwise) pop off the paper.
Proof that film will be around for a long while I guess (hope!).
