This may help. From our marketing manager at Leica USA:

"The construction and optical performance are identical to those of the
actual Summicron 50mm, but its design is inspired by the first
non-collapsible Summicron, which came on the market in the mid fifties."

Sounds as if we are talking about the same furniture, in a retro house. ;-)
