Martin:

No, there is not a G4 available (yet).  In the digital world things do
change quickly.  As far as the G3 is concerned, it is a sweet digital point
and shoot.  The pictures are very crisp and clear.  The lens does show some
chromatic aberrations with backlit subjects, wide open.  But stopped down
even 1 stop eliminates this.  The focus is not  always lightning quick, but
is very accurate and has a flexible zone system that allows you to position
where it is focused.

All in all, with the manual capabilities and external flash support, it is a
very nice digital camera.
