I've the same problem with Bessa R and ApoLanthar 90/3.5, due to the short baselenght of the rangefinder. No problems with all M bodies. All the best, Giorgio Ferrari - -------Messaggio originale------- Da: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Data: mercoledì 22 gennaio 2003 09.31.56 A: LUG Oggetto: [Leica] Bessa R2 with 90mm Apo Summicron During the holidays I took some shots at the Polish Jews' Club in Copenhagen with the R2 and 90mm Apo, mostly at 2-3 meter distance and at f2. Many of those were out of focus. Last weekend I tested the comination in more controlled circumstances (my wife's garden gnome) and again, at close distances and wide apertures, the 90 just does not seem to focus correctly on the R2. I would be interested in the experiences of other R2 owners with longish lenses. I wonder if my R2 is faulty (the lens works fine on my Leica bodies), or if I simply have to live with the fact that given the R2's shorter effective rangefinder base, focusing a 90mm lens at f2 is always going to be a hit-or-miss (mostly miss) proposition.
