Thanks for looking. Do you mean the last B&W or the last colour? In both
cases I was losing highlights all over the place when I tried to push
the contrast further, but I'm not saying it couldn't have been improved
in either.

Not to be so presumptious as to tell you how to do things, but did you  
ever think of printing/scanning it darker and a little more contrasty?
