Well spoken Daniel. The truth is that Nikon Industries, for example, would
love to get out of the camera business, it is NOT profitable for them,
especially Digicams which has a very slim (if any) profit margin. Nikon's
film cameras by comparison has a large profit margin so you can count on
seeing film cameras around for a long time. Nikons problem is that their
international image is irrevocably tied to cameras, even though their other
divisions are much more profitable. So, thank God for Leica and their
dedication to a fine product, and I wish some of the low level thinkers on
this list would cut them some slack.
