Greg,
They are both great lenses - to my eye roughly equivalent performance.  I
often carry the Elmarit when traveling due to its light weight and small
size.  Also, I find that the Elmarit handles better.  The focus ring on the
90 ASPH tends to bind a bit if you squeeze it too hard.  Hard to go wrong
with either.  Depends on whether you need the speed.
