Subject: [Leica] M3 into an M2 body shell?

Wonder if someone can help me with this question...I have an unused M2 body 
shell that is in much better condition than my user M3 (duh <g>).  Will the M3 
fit into the M2 body shell?  The M3 has the PV lever, so that wouldn't be an 
issue...obviously the guard around the lens release button would be missing, 
but would it otherwise fit?
