Subject: [Leica] NYC Visit Last Week

Went to the Big Apple last week on business. While there, got by Rich
Pinto's place for Leica Day and met him personally. I have a black M7 on
back order. Seems to be as nice in person as on the phone. Visited Ken
Hansen's. Nice people there too. It snowed Thursday and I met a African
American photographer on Times Square taking pictures in the snow with
a Speed Graphic of tourists. He agreed to let me take his picture with
my M loaded with Tri X rated at 200. I was trying to set the exposure
and could not get a correct exposure light in my viewfinder. I had my
f2 35 lens mounted. He asked about my film speed then said f2 at 1/8th.
Sure enough, the correct exposure light came on. I questioned the 1/8th
and camera movement. He said take a deep breath, hold it and press the
shutter. Should be right on. I will let you know after I develop.
Anyway, he was a real interesting subject.
