Nathan

Thanks for looking at the Pictures, it was one of those weeks where I
could have had 10 alts, just the luck of the thing.

Well yes the French sort of take the Beaujolais Nouveau seriously.
Everybody says how it's just a marketing exercise (which it is, there's
côte de Rhone primeur in the shops as I type but no one makes a fuss
about that) but then goes out and drinks it. Most of the cafés and
bistros have signs in the window announcing its arrival, so as a
marketing thing it works. As for the wine itself, well its very errr
young. There _are_ some strange flavours sometimes - my most memorable
had a flavour of pear drops - an English sweet - but it's easy to drink
and not expensive.

Hi Steve,

It is pretty obvious from people's comments that the alternates
impressed more than the main, and I join in that opinion. Nothing wrong
with the main, but the alternates were just superb. I waver between the
Beaujolais Nouveau shot and the wide angle rugby shot as to which one is

my favourite.

Incidentally, do the French take Beaujolais Nouveau seriously? When I
lived in Belgium, it was a big deal in the Brussels restaurants, but it
certainly was not because of the taste...It is a brilliant marketing
ploy to get people excited about too young, inferior plonk.
