Sorry, guys! I've been out of town for two weeks and returned to over 6,000 e-mails. I buy my Banana Republic vests from Oops!! in Columbia and Charleston, SC. It's a store that sells mistakes and overruns. The tags are cut out but enough is left so you can tell that it is a Banana Republic and it's $19.95. Sometimes they have them and sometimes they don't. When they do, I buy several. However, if you are not near SC, Banana Republic sometimes has them for sale on their site www.bananarepublic.com. They had a big sale a few months ago and sold them for $29 instead of the usual $89. They are great vests if you don't mind looking like a photo nerd - I don't mind since the vest makes it much easier to distribute weight. With the M6's and 7's you can even get away with not carrying a bag.
