Subject: [Leica] lost mail

Tonight mejac.palo-alto.ca.us was the victim of a major spam attack. Somebody figured out how to get through my anti-spam protection and was sending millions of "buy viagra" and "lower mortgage rates" messages from my server. Grouch. I've plugged that hole, but the vermin will probably find another one eventually.

I couldn't face going through a million messages and deleting the junk, so I just deleted everything.

If you sent a message to leica-users in the last hour or two and it didn't get through, and your words were so important that you'd like to repeat them, please do.

(For those of you who care, there was ~someuser/cgi-bin/whatever.pl that was invoking sendmail. I took away that user's cgi-bin privileges)
