not OT, as this is a real popular film in our leicas.

i am of the 1600 at EI 800 school. i use XTOL 1+3 (as i do with all
films), distilled water, making sure to observe the 100ml/8x10 film
XTOL rule.

when i need 1600 speed or above, delta 3200 fills that void.

when i want 400, HP5+ is the rare film i find that is very close
to its rated speed.

my speed determinations are based on zone I being 0.10 D over
film base + fog, where film is developed for zone VIII at 1.25D over
FB+F.

on the other hand, take it with a grain of salt; my lab technique from high
school and college was never as clinical as it should have been!
