Subject: [Leica] RE: Using my Vario Elmar 21-35

Yesterday I finally coud go out and shoot with the new Wide Zoom Vario Elmar
R. I am quite impressed with the results. If sharpness is up the level one
could expect this is not his main virtue but a general balance of features
and results that gives you a regular output in any circumstance. I own and
use 17-35 zooms from Canon and Nikon and the advantage is not the sharpness
but the regularity of the output, the lack of flare and ghosting and the
sharpnes all over the zoom range excepting a, small, softness at 21 full
open. Bokeh is, as I thought, nice; an outstanding lens probably the best
in his range (I have not bought the 17-35 Carl Zeis as I like not the Contax
N system, but I think it will not surpass this tiny and nice vario Elmar).

Have a look at a small sample of the hundreds of pictures I shooted
yesterday: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder.tcl?folder_id=250582

Kind regards

Felix
