Bill,

I like this a lot, I'm a sucker for geometric symmetry with a 
symmetry-breaking action element that adds tension.

The things that make me think "what if he had...." are:

1)  The handrail against the far wall, I'd be tempted to try a little 
Photoshop magic on that rail so that the only the two center handrails 
frame the subject.  Probably be very easy given the mottled stone background.

2)  A slightly lower angle so that the shadow across the base of the steps 
can be seen where the girl is walking.  That might provide more scale 
between the height of the steps and the little legs.
