very nice, i love the look of the towers when they turn on the 
interior lights.  makes you glad they did not clad the exterior
with rock as was originally planned in the 20's.

they're doing work on the joisey tower and it's all
covered with scaffolding and such.

i've commuted on the GWB for the better part of 10 years and 
i've never figured out when they light it and when they don't.
anyone care to offer the simple explanation?

now that i have some spare time on my hands, i think i'll try to
photograph the bridge.  i read a book to my kids called "the little
lighthouse and the great grey bridge" which says there's a lighthouse
underneath the NY-side tower.  the afterward of the book says
the lighthouse was fitted with a new lens in 2002, so i guess it's not 
fiction, but i've never seen it, nor even heard of it.  maybe time
for a little photographic safari.
