Matthew,

IMO, digital MF is really where it's going to go for high quality imaging in
a few years, as the sensor sizes are limited with 35mm...typically, the
smaller the sensor elements, the higher the noise...but with an MF format,
you can get a very clean picture, and a lot of pixels.
