Hey Doug - now I finally know the name of that stuff - foxtail barley!  It's
beautiful when it comes out in late summer here, and wonderful to
photograph - you really captured it.

I'm no wildlife photography, but I'm sure you would have loved seeing the
tow Cranes (whooping or Sandhill...?) I came across the other day - stopped
for a rest on their journey south I presume.
