"Just live with it" is exactly the workable answer. Despite all the urban legends,
I have yet to see a fogged image caused by carry-on luggage scanners in North
America, Western Europe, Australia/New Zealand or the advanced parts of Asia. I
routinely travel with Delta 3200, IR film, etc. and have NEVER experienced any
damage, even after several passes. I do not bother asking for hand inspection even
when I visit the U.S., despite my supposed right to it there. Can someone actually
furnish PROOF of film that has been damaged by a carry-on scanner in an OECD
country?
