Just got back from 8 days in Mexico. I flew down and back via Continental no
problems going but a big hassle coming back. All batteries have to be in
checked luggage which they hand inspect twice. No lighters or aerosols and a
bunch of other items, which they let you know about at ticket check in
(almost lost my antique pipe lighter), film safes are pulled going through x
ray and hand inspected, but my laptop, lenses and cameras went straight
through all checks without even being inspected. Weird. All this security is
BS and is only to give some of us a false sense of security. While we were
having our bags hand inspected my Daughters purse was pinched in front of
everyone's noses, a real Chinese fire drill.
