It was so quiet you could have heard a chipmunk belch--seems like half the population went to the seashore. John and I headed into the city in the '57 Dodge, looking for a pleasant drive. We discovered a cricket match in Fairmount Park--not exactly what we expected to see--so we stopped the car and took a closer look. Met a delightful lady, Ismay, who introduced us to nearly everyone on the field, as well as many of the bystanders. The game was totally unintelligible to two middle-aged American guys, but the Jamaica and Trinidad-inspired eats were just sensational! Spiced pork, spiced fish, a drink called Mauva (or something like that)--it was a blast. Some photos of the people include Ismay and her family: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=896050 A rather heated domino game in progress. I had to assure the players that I wasn't there to raid the betting: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=896057 A little later we stopped by Kyle Cassidy's casa. He took a break from stripping century-old wood for a little relaxation. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=896063 Enjoy the shots!
