If they are mottled in a random pattern then especially if it is only part of the roll with a definite demarcation line then your lab had a jam and pulled your film out of the machine while in either the developer or bleach. On the other hand, it could be environmental if you have been out in the heat and it also pervades the roll but in a more continuous and not blotchy manner. Just my two cents.
