Subject: [Leica] OT - Fifth F1 World Championship

For those who care, Michael Schumacher, driving for Ferrari, tied a world
record that many race fans believed would endure in perpetuity: Juan Manuel
Fangio's five world championships. In winning the French Grand Prix at
Magny-Cours this afternoon, Schumacher clinched the championship, his third
in a row, with six races still to be run, the earliest the championship has
ever been won. Fangio is the only other G.P. driver to have won three
consecutive championships.

Schumacher has 61 Formula One wins in 173 race starts; next most victories is
Alain Prost with 51. Prost also won four world championships, Ayrton Senna
three.

Ferrari is closing on its fourth consecutive world constructor's
championship. Chapeaux to Michael and the entire Ferrari Scuderia.
