Subject: Re: [Leica] Amtrak - long rebuttal

Mitch, you are entitled to my apologies for some of what I wrote and you have
them. Clearly I made some assumptions that were incorrect and being as fond
of long distance train travel, it irks me no end that Amtrak takes a lot of
heat for much stuff that is not its fault.

Most obvious example is the way that the freight railroads, who turned over
their money-losing passenger service to Amtrak with the government's
permission on the promise that they would provide adequate rail access to
Amtrak trains, routinely put Amtrak trains on siding to wait while they run
their freight trains through. So of course they're late. There are other
issues but LUGGERS have been bored enough with my train stuff.

That said, Mitch, there was no excuse for the tone or some of the criticism
of my email and both I and my navel are sorry.

Best,

Seth LaK 9
