You don't actually have to drop trou or show anything to get a response. During the years that I did portrait work, I had absolutely 100% success, never fail, with the simple trick of unzipping my zipper if the subject was wooden or ill-at-ease. Any age, any sex, any degree of stuffiness. It always relaxed them. There was never any danger of my exposing myself, and towards the end I learned that you didn't even have to do it, you could just pantomime it and get the same response.

It's just amazing how well this trick works to get a portrait subject to loosen up.
