I'd think there 'd be a general rule to keep a pretty low profile when you're the new guy/gal. Expressing strong opinions especially when it gets even vaguely personal you just can't win. You are the new guy. We know the person you are attacking. He is one of us. You we don't know. Wait a week or two. Get a feeling for the list. Let the list get a feeling for you. Then go for it!
