I took it with me to San Francisco because I knew I'd need to shoot some booths on the exhibit floor, but also knew that fine quality wasn't needed. So when I did my few hours of playing tourist, I took it with me. And the NY shot was made while I was playing party photographer at the company summer party. I am impressed by the possibilities of digital, but I if and when I make the switch, it will definitely be to an SLR - I just can't deal with the idea of taking photos by manipulating a t.v. screen. ;-) The other thing I really can't get used to with the G2 is the shutter lag time. This is supposed to be pretty good as far as cameras in its class go, but if you're shooting a person who's moving at all, or any other scene with motion in it, what you see if what you get only if you are very lucky. PAW alternate Digital converted to gray scale...for some reason, that just seems odd to me, but it shouldn't. I suppose that it is all of the benefits of B&W film with none of the grain. Are you finding that the G2 is becoming the camera you pick up more often, or is it just the smaller camera that you pick up when you don't really expect to be shooting anything? Like a Contax T or a Rollei 35?
