That said, his photographs can only come from his personal relationship with his demimonde subjects-- rather like Nan Golden-- and his own junkie persona. "Tulsa" is largely concerned with drug addicts-- many of whom are now dead, and "Teen Age Lust" is conceerned with horney teenages, often with their clothes off. It's personal photojournalism of a very high order-- raw, direct and intuitive-- which makes the viewer into a voyeur /accomplice. I love it.
