I noticed two anomalies in the negs that I scanned which I hope someone here might be able to explain. The images are entirely uninteresting as I just wanted to see what the lens could do. The first image is of a wheel on a car: http://www.sclamb.com/temp/wheel1.jpg Inside the wheel arch on the left hand side there is a round light spot that was not in the wheel arch when I took the picture. The spot is on the negative. Here is a second shot taken about ten seconds after the first using the same lens: http://www.sclamb.com/temp/wheel.jpg Even though the image is darker the round light spot is not on the negative or on the scanned image. This second shot is of a bay tree, As you can see, there is a light area on the tree, looking like flare. It is on the negative but it was definitely not on the tree when I took the picture. http://www.sclamb.com/temp/Tree%20Flare.jpg Also, at the bottom of the tree on the right hand side there is a round white spot. The area just below it was a child's soft toy that was lying on the grass, but there was nothing on the grass where the white spot has appeared on the negative. All the pictures were taken on a bright (not sunny) day with a full cover of cloud, so the light was even and diffused. The lens shade was extended for all shots. All other images on the roll using this lens were fine with no spots or flare. Can anyone explain the flare on the tree and the spots inside the wheel arch and just below the right side of the tree? If the lens is at fault than I can return it. Thanks. Simon - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
