I am the type of person who likes to see as much through the viewfinder as possible. I hate looking around the corner of Leica's lens hoods. The lens hood of the 28 Summicron occupies almost 1/4 of the viewing area within the viewfinder. I'd rather see my composition than fear my fingers touching the lens. Flare? I'll use my hand. I like the idea of taking out the filter glass and using the mount only. Until Leica slims down their hoods... Thanks.
