Lee,

the .58, .72 permits you to select the angle of view you want through the viewfinder.  It has nothing to do with how clearly you'll see through that viewfinder.  Fortunately, most types of blur (refractive error) can be well corrected with glasses, contact lenses or surgery.  It would take a complete redesign of the already complex rangefinder optic to include a dioptric corrective lens.  Historically, the rangefinder for the Leica has been complex from the start but reliable and accurate as well.
