No I know why you wanted a depth of focus calculator. A brilliant article.

Thanks Dante.

If you suffer from the idea that your lenses are misfocusing due to a body
focus problem (for example Noctilux, and Summilux 75), you might check out

http://www.dantestella.com/technical/flange.html

When you do the math, you will discover that it is almost an impossibility
that given the manufacturing specs of any M body, that the problem would be
the body focus of the body (whether Cosina, Leica or Konica, even given
their differing factory specs).

Part 1 http://www.dantestella.com/technical/flange.html#dof

addresses general issues of depth of focus and depth of field

Part 2 http://www.dantestella.com/technical/flange.html#hexar and
Part 3 http://www.dantestella.com/technical/flange.html#keppler

addresses the interaction between the Hexar RF body focus spec and potential
errors you can make in testing Hexar compatibility with Leica, Cosina and
other lenses.

Part 4 http://www.dantestella.com/technical/flange.html#summilux

addresses the fallacy of the Summilux (it's the body's fault/lens's fault,
etc) and the unnecessary work Leica and other rangefinder users have done on
their cameras (body focus adjustments), when they should be concentrating on
rangefinder alignment and more importantly, human factors.
