I've been using my Lumix since the beginning of May and have no complaints about the picture quality or the LCD brightness. For the truly demanding, the camera does offer the option of saving captures as TIFF files - at, of course, the price of storage requirements. As to the on board display, the brightness is readily adjusted as circumstances demand. Last night I had to do some grip-and-grins in a rather dim meeting room and did indeed increase the LCD brightness to assist in composition. My biggest gripe about the camera is its apparent lack of a means to attach easily an external battery pack such as a Quantum.
