Because sitting on your ass for hours in front of a computer screen (God
forbid, maybe even watching TV!) is not the same thing as being in a
darkroom doing darkroom work. It omits the tactile element, the same
soothing element that makes oil painting such a joy. Asking the
question is as ignorant as asking, "Why buy canvas, brushes, and paint,
when you can make pictures on your computer?"

The question is lame.
