Thanks, Ted - It does indeed come down to KISS....or, as I told the
students, the one and only thing they owe their subjects is
" Honesty: honesty in your vision; honesty in what you tell your subjects
about your project and its purpose; honesty in your approach to your
subject; and honesty in what you present to your viewers." Aaron went into
Starbucks being totally upfront about what he wanted to do, and, by God, the
mgr said 'fine' - with the caveat that Aaron get permission from customers
BEFORE shooting them. Given the completely natural looking photos he ended
up with, this is also shows how people will relax and ignore a photographer
after giving permission.......Perhaps "sneaking" shots is a bit overrated?
