Subject: [Leica] Jim Shulman's PAW 9--something different

Had a rare and delightful opportunity yesterday to spend time with a
fascinating octagenarian, John Henry Funk. He is a great opera enthusiast,
and had the wonderful fortune to attend the opera, mainly in France and
other European countries, from age four onward. I suppose he's one of the
very few left who can remember meeting Nellie Melba (and, from a six year
old's perspective, what struck him most was her impressive balcon--which
"could have supported Roget's Thesaurus".) The photo gallery in the
background brought back innumerable memories.
