There is a small slotted screw on the rear of the lens and it usually has a small red arrow. Turn it clockwise and you should see the blades of the lens retract and it will stop in an open position. Then it can be mounted to the camera body. This is true of all Hasselblad lenses and toys that attach to the body. Easy to do. If that doesn't do it, take it to a tech. Those who use Leica would be most appreciative of the fine qualities of Hasselblad. They are really two different instruments and IMHO have two different purposes. Enjoy both. pet05.jpg (10752 bytes) <http://www.robinsnestphotography.com/> Roger Skully Robin’s Nest Photography www.robinsnestphotography.com <http://www.robinsnestphotography.com/> - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Alastair Firkin Sent: Thursday, May 02, 2002 6:09 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Hasselblad question? >Dear Luggers, > >first of all, my apology to raise a Hasselblad >question here. i know this is a LEICA user group but >every time i have LEICA questions i always get great >answers here. i know some of you use Hasselbald and >very likely can help me. > >1. i came across a C series lens 250/5.6 that is off a >body and cocked (or uncocked?). anyway, the shutter is >in closed mode and i cannot attach it to a body. >usually when i attach or detach a lens i can see thru >the optics. is this something simple (maybe i just >miss a mechanism on the lens?) that i can take care of >(how?) or this is a jammed lens that requires >professional help? > >2. similar situation but now it's a 80/2.8 attached to >a body and it seems to me jammed. i cannot cock the >shutter and the little metal stud is extending out >(and i cannot put the magazine on.) > >please contact me off-list if you have any idea about >my problems. any help would be appreciated. > >i am thinking maybe i should stick to my Leica... > >all the best to all, > >chang >cchang@gc.cuny.edu What seemed like an innocent request has scored 3 hot chillies on Eudora. As far as I'm aware, it is a reasonably easy fix, but does require some skill, and therefore is best done by a tech.
