Subject: [Leica] Leica in Switzerland?

Leica the corporation was in the controlling hands of Swiss investor for a number of
years. I do not believe any of the consumer photographic gear was manufactured there,
though, and those days are now long gone. The greatest number of shares in Leica A.G.
is now in the hands of the French luxury goods maker (luggage, scarves etc.),
Hermes. Over the years, products carrying the Leica name have been made in Germany,
USA,
Canada, Japan, and Portugal, as well as in the Saar (French-occupied German zone post
WWII).
