The digital imaging stuff (like thumbnail and filmstrip view) are really helpful and much better than a separate application (iphoto etc) for visualizing large sets of photos. Sure you can categorize them with these separate tools, but who has time to do this? I've got a work machine with it (no reg issues as it does not have it) and a retail box install and have never had issues with it. I've added a few things over the past few months without issue either (CD burner, scanner).
