The idea that Leica would charge for that is really appalling, but not at all surprising given their truly twisted ideas of marketing. On the other hand, if, as John wondered, what you are being offered is something more like the "short-courses" Nikon offers - which are, obviously, also marketing events - in which you are taught something about a particular aspect of photography over the course of a day, and get to play with equipment - then you can at least judge whether it's worth the fee to learn what they are offering to teach.
