I answered my own question.

All Polapan slide emulsions are no longer being made.  So what's in stock is 
it.   This SUCKS bigtime since polapan bw slide was able to give results that 
were totally glowing and retro looking (think george hurrell or laszlo 
willinger  in bw slide format)...and so far I haven't been able to find 
anything that matches that look...not DR 5 not scala or the like.

Since polapan doesn't store very well, you've only got about 1/2 year to a 
year to play with the stuff.

ps--polapan color was super cool.  used incorrectly it gives muted 
technocolor acid trippy renditions of your composition.   (SIGH)
