They showed some current P&S, the new Digilux, an R8 with a couple of zooms, an M6 TTL & M7 (black 0.72 for both), M lenses (50 1.0, 50 1.4, 28 2.0, 21, 90 2.8, Tri-Elmar), magnifier. The Digilux and M7 got the most attention while I was there. I got to put a roll trhough the M7 to sample the camera and lenses. I don't have the results yet but liked the camera handling, the AE mode and the associated display a lot. Did see RF flare at one point, and the M6 TTL in the same position was similar; could focus both after shifting my eye a bit. The M7 shutter seems quieter, with release response/feel similar enough otherwise similar to my old M2. Nothing here that I have already seen posted except now I want one. Harder to assess the Digilux as I have not used digital cameras much before, and the only outputs on display were some big (about 0.5m) inexpensive "direct" (no PS or other tuning efforts) machine prints that were sharp but looked digital. View screen was better than what I've seen on other small digitals- larger, sharper, better contrast. Responsiveness seemed better too, but hard to be sure. Camera looks ok to me (though it feels less solid and more complex than the M7!) - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
