I never had this >prob. with my Nikon F. This is probably one of the most frequently asked questions to the list, and if you ever have the time and desire, you could find all you want to know about it and more in the archives. But the skinny of it is: NO the cameras are not difficult to load. You can't compare it to the Nikon F because the M doesn't load the same way. Here are my handy hints: You've just loaded the film into the camera. Take a moment to see that you've done it properly, that the leader tongue is in the film tulip (metaphorically speaking, I assure you), and that the sprockets have engaged the sprocket holes; if not, reposition the film until they do. Close the camera back and put on the bottom plate. Open the rewind crank and rewind the leader until you feel a slight resistance, indicating that the leader's been taken up and the sprockets have indeed engaged the holes. Now, fire the shutter and wind on, watching the extended rewind crank. It should revolve as you wind on. If it doesn't, the film is not properly loaded; go back and start over. If it does, fire/wind on two more times until the first frame is indicated in the whachamacallit. You're done! Shoot with assurance!
