The hardened steel cam plate must be adjusted (moved) by loosening several screws and one of those screws is hidden. Once you loosen the screws that are very obvious, do not force the steel cam plate to move. You should be able to feel that it is loose and then it may be moved with only slight pressure. If it takes more than that, look for the hidden screw. These are the BEST, BEST enlargers for 35mm work that have ever been constructed. I am now using a Durst L-1200 with point light source (whole thing is in the $10,000 price range) and the 1c construction puts the L-1200 to shame. You have a winner. Get a superb lens to match it such as the new APO's and you will love the results. Don't handicap it by sticking with the "old" Leitz lenses.
