That seems to be the case with the CV 50/3.5 Heliar collapsible. A
simple design, few air:glass surfaces to cause diffraction, and
excellent results. Whenever somebody touts a new zoom lens and I see
something like "16 elements in 11 groups", I wonder about the quality of
light after being bent by so many different mediums.
