But most buggy whip lovers wouldn't begin to claim that the buggy whip - well, the buggy - wasn't a pretty anachronistic, slow, awkward mode of transportation. Fun as an oddity though - absolutely. B. D. And, yes, Marc, at one point a number of years ago I did own a Visoflex and did find it to be a clever Rube Goldberg contraption designed to turn a rangefinder camera into something - a reflex - it clearly was never intended to be. Obviously, if the Viso wasn't odd and cranky, Leica would never have introduced the reflex line - people would just have flocked to the Viso and would have been happy with that. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Marc James Small Sent: Thursday, April 11, 2002 3:46 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] Screw mount to M At 02:30 PM 4/11/02 EDT, SthRosner@aol.com wrote: >But it ain't fun to fiddle with a Visoflex. I don't know what you are "fiddlin'" about with on a Visoflex, but it is a pretty basic apparatus and there really isn't a lot to it -- you just pick it up, sight, focus, and shoot. Metering does require you to look through the RF window but, heck, that just takes a second. Let's just say that this is a broad and expansive universe with lots of room for those who dislike the Visoflex and lots of room for those of us who love it.
