I've used a 42mm plastic lens cap on my Summitar with a sliver of black tape
inside to make it tighter.

The Summitar takes a Leitz ORSTO front lens cover.  This is also the lens
cover needed to go over a filter on an E39 lens;  the standard A42 front
lens cover will be too loose for that application.
