I like the self-assured pose of the salesman in the main image. I was
just asking folks on the LUG why nobody uses the 35mm Summilux, and here
it is. All of the hype surrounding the M7 seems to be bringing the price
of the M6 down some. That's fine with me.

Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAW 12 - Leica Day in Zurich

This is as pure a Leica PAW as I will post all year...

During the week now ending I have been travelling, so I am behind both
posting and looking at others' work. But here is my PAW for week 12,
taken on Friday 22 March. The introduction of the Leica M7 and the other
new products here in Zurich took place at Foto Ganz, the largest Leica
dealer here. It was quite widely advertised, not just in photo circles
but also in mainstream media such as the local equivalent of the New
York Time, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. So, expecting huge throngs of
people on Saturday, I took advantage of my current unemployed status and
went to have a look on Friday morning, figuring that most potential M7
purchasers would be at work (I realize that there is some inherent
inconsistency here...). And so it was. I was able to fondle the M7 and
to have my two M6s checked (and pronounced spot-on as regards shuttter
speeds and light metering) without waiting much.

Here is the Leica rep posing with the goodies. He was somewhat aloof, as
if secure in the knowledge that the M7 would sell itself:

And it did sell. As of last Thursday, Foto Ganz had sold the four M7s
that Leica had provided them, and taken customer deposits on eight more,
to be delivered in April/May.

Here he is again, discussing the finer points of the M7 with the store
manager:

and here is the Leica technician checking out my M6TTL:

All pictures with the M6+35mm Summilux on HP5+ developed in XTOL 1+3.

and comments and critique are always welcome and appreciated.
